See history come alive at this newly constructed metro station which would be the first metro station in India to house an art gallery. Artefacts and statues from five museums in the state will be exhibited in the art gallery and will be categorized on different themes like architecture, devotional, sculpture and more. Some of these artefacts are more than 700 years old and have tremendous historical value. The artefacts to be displayed include idols and carvings belonging to Hindu and Jain religion and provide an insight on several pages of Indian History.
The underground metro station of Jaipur is on the verge of completion and the art gallery is fast pacing for coming into shape. The authorities are working persistently and tirelessly to get things into shape and blend the heritage value into the new developmental structure of the city. The gallery will also house artefacts which have been unearthed during excavation work in and around the Pink City. Besides the art gallery, the restoration work of two age-old stepwells at Choti Chaupar and Badi Chaupar is also running in parallel, enhancing the beauty of this historic city.
The art gallery will be at the first level of the metro station enhancing the aesthetic ambience of the place. Jaipur metro art gallery is being considered as an addition to the already existing touristic value of the city.
